Gene Ellison is considered one of the nations most popular tournament anglers.  Known as “The Fishing Machine”, Gene was born in Somerville, MA and raised and educated in Dover, MA.   Gene is one of 10 children who were raised by a Saint!  “Thanks Mom.”

Throughout his busy career, Gene has represented the country’s finest companies, helping them to promote their products through top retailers and manufacturers around the world.  Utilizing his 28 years of professional sales and marketing skills, Gene demonstrates and recommends products and techniques to anglers and families across the country.

There is no question about Gene’s dedication and passion for teaching kids and their families about fishing. He has been very successful in organizing dozens of kids events each year and he has been effective in increasing participation in outdoor sports and activities.  Gene accomplishes this through television appearances, live demonstrations in retail stores, tournament appearances, teaching seminars and being involved in kids fishing contests.

Gene has recently added the title of author to his resume, as he has just published his first children’s book, “TEACH ME FISHING.” This 48 page book is designed for children & their parents (who have never fished before) to easily get themselves started in America’s Favorite Family Sport !

Gene also dedicates his time to the promotion of other professional anglers.  Gene does this through his very popular internet radio show “The Fishing Machine PAA Weekly Radio Show.” Each week Gene brings amateur anglers inside the boat of the worlds top bass anglers.  During these interviews, Gene gives other professional anglers exposure to their fans, and allows them to promote themselves, their sponsors, and the tackle they use to catch more fish.   As one of the nations top promotional pro anglers Gene provides sponsors with direct exposure to their target audiences, through his relationships with professional anglers from all competitive levels.

Building The Professional Anglers Association (PAA)

From 2005 – 08,  Gene placed his own fishing career on hold, when he accepted the role of  Executive Director of the Professional Anglers Association (PAA).  For four years, Gene worked tirelessly as a vlounteer, to build and guide this non-profit “players association” which today is made up of over 500 of the top professional tournament bass fisherman in the world.  The PAA’s mission is to promote the growth of fishing, activate conservation efforts, and serve the “Catch A Dream” Foundation, a charitable children’s organization that grants fishing, hunting and outdoor related wishes to terminally ill children.  Gene is most recognized for being the architect, builder and director of the wildly famous, inaugural, ”PAA/Toyota Texas Bass Classic” Tourament, which is still held annually to raise funds for Texas Parks & Wildlife !

Gene’s Objective:

To promote the growth of bass fishing as a representative of the top companies in the world.  Gene enjoys promoting the products of his sponsors, through demonstrations, seminars, tv and radio appearances as well as through contests.  Gene utilizes his 28 years of professional sales and marketing skills to teach & recommend products and techniques to anglers across the country.  Gene provides all of his sponsors with direct exposure to their target audiences through his relationship with professional anglers, and with major national trade show associations.  Gene competes in national and regional professional tournaments as well as North East amatuer tournaments, since exposure and top performance continues to build his reputation with amateur and professional anglers alike.
